Happy Spring!

Well Billy is out of town this week - away in Seattle for work ; so I'm hanging on my own, and thought a blog update was due!

We dropped him off at the airport this am - and Keira cried and whined for an hour - at least- wanting her daddy.... :) so adorable - she's really gotten attached to him this past week - which he totally loves! A few more days and she'll be 21 months old.... we can not believe she'll be 2 soon...! She's talking so much - and just has such an adorable disposition....always - well almost always wanting to share, and hates when her big brother is upset - she consoles him by rubbing his arm or back and bringing him his buddy! Our big snuggler, and pats your back when she hugs you! She's also loving fishy kisses these days...she's almost got it down - sucks in those cheeks and puckers up for big kisses that result in full belly laughs!

Quinn is becomming so independent - taking off his clothes totally by himself, and really gets dressed with little assistance too! When we try to help, we're told "i can do it - i'm a big boy now!" - He loves to ride his bike...and we've even started going for bike rides where I pull Keira in the trailer, and he rides besides me. It's still a bit hectic --- trying to keep him on my side, and reminding him not to get to close to my bike so we don't get tangled and fall. All in all he really is doing great -he especially loves it when he gets to race Billy back to the house once we turn down our street.....funny how Quinn always wins :)

Back a few mon's ago we made a family decision for me to resign my teaching position to be home with the kids. This was my second year out with Keira - and at this point I needed to either go back or resign. It wasn't an easy choice - Niskayuna is one of the top - if not the top districts to work for. I've been in touch with the principal i started under, and of course my current administrator - both who have said they'd do anything they could for me when ready to return. Part of our contract also states that if a teacher is reinstated within 5 years of their resignation, they are entitled to reclaim their standings with say disability etc. - not tenure, but having already been tenured with them - it doesn't concern me too much. SO --- at home I will be until Keira is ready for school. I'm still pushing with photography - and recently started working with high school jr's and seniors for senior year portraits. I have 2 galleries up on my buis. blog if you're interested.... go to

click on HS seniors on the right
I'm really going for a very urban feel - nontraditional, edgy look. Hoping things really take off - and I'm able to pull in some extra income.

Well - guess that's about it! Gonna try to go grab some of our pic's from Cali - that I'm so sorry haven't made it up yet!!!!

love and kisses - genine
