trip to rochester

just a quick note --- i know ...no pic's yet!!! Since my last post - Quinn came down with a stom. bug --- vomitting - the works...thank god it seemed to have only lasted 24 hrs.!

So, we'd been playing things by ear - and watching them to see if they were up for the trip. Happy to say, both kids are doing well - so we're just waiting for Billy to get home, and hope to be on the road by 5. We'll be at Andrea's if anyone is looking to meet up with us. Thinking maybe of taking them to the Zoo Sat. --- and will probably head to the kids museum w/my dad on Sunday!

Looking forward to seeing family.... xxoo genine

sick, sick, sick... :(

the word has taken on a whole new meaning.... it started with Billy getting sick in Cali. -- he had such a bad fever and cough --- he's still clearing it out --- a good 2 weeks of not being well. Quinn came down with it shortly after we got home --- instant cough - and fevers - but was on his way to recoving. Keira, a few days after Quinn. High fevers - took her in to the Dr. b/c she was spiking to almost 104 for 36 hrs. --- all looked ok - no ear infections/strep/uti ---- told to call if it continued next day. We were happy that she really didn't climb very high the next day, and seemed more chipper during the day. That night around 11:00 - she was up to almost 103, and coughing uncontrollably --- brought her down stairs, and gave her a nebulizer treatment to help open her airways (med. is a broncial dialator) which it did calm the coughing fit --- however she seemed to be breathing more rapidly than normal --- the other distrurbing thing was that she had a good does of ibprofin only 4 hrs. before --- ib lasts for 6-8 hrs. which is why she was given it at bedtime....so a 103 fever with ib in her system was not so good....I kept trying to think it was ok - and not to get to worried...called her Dr. just to run things by her, and she agreed that with her breathing especially, she needed to go to the ER --- so by mid-night her and I were on our way. Luckily there wasn't a big wait - and she was seen quite quickly --- and ear infection was lurking in her right ear. So --- I was very happy that there was a simple answer to her fever spike!!! We were home around 2:30am --- Quinn had been up on and off all night --- complaining of ear pain, so in he went the next day --- DOUBLE ear infection. Unbelievable hu? Both of them just recently started with the congestion - so it was surprising. Both little ones are now on Amoxicilin - and have slept through the night without a peep 2 nights in a row! Looking like we're on our way to better health! What a killer this virus has been! I've got a slight cough - think it's been 4 days --- but nothing more, and NO fever! As I kept saying to Billy, I better not get sick....b/c if mommy gets sick - and if I got it like they did...oh boy woud the "shit hit the fan" as they say!!! lol
Luckily Bill and Kathy live so close that they have been over to help out, and watched the kids Fri. here so I could retreat up for some much needed sleep! Can't thank them enough.

So -- I'm so sorry for not posting sooner, and reporting on our wonderful trip to Cali! Visiting with Anne and Patty was fabulous! Anne was so gracious, giving us her bedroom - we felt right at home and very comfortable with her and Mike. As always, had many laughs - great food, and drinks that were way too strong :) made by Patty herself! I'm not kidding, I had two drinks and was off my rocker the whole night! I was drinking water with them, and for the remainder of the night ---- and still felt weary the next day! Be ware of the Patty pour!!!

Friends from college came down from LA to visit with us --- 2 of Billy's old room mates - guys that I also was very close with in school. It was wonderful seeing Joe Powers and Josh Brill --- always, always a great time.

I have many pictures sitting in my computer, and will do my best to being posting some --- check back.

Wishing you all good health, and for those celebrating, Happy Easter! Will take lots of pic's of the kiddies and post those soon too!
