this will make you laugh...

Quinn has been waking up VERY VERY EARLY!! Before 6:30 on some days - not exactly what i'd prefer! Especially b/c my little angel sleeper Keira - sleeps until 8:30 or 9 if i let her!
Anyways - bumped into a parent of a past student today -she has 4 kids. Mentioned Quinn's early wake-ups and she said "my kids learned the number 7 real quick..." she went on to explain that she put a digital clock in their room, taped off the minutes so only the hour was visible. Not sure if she posted a number 7 or not also in their room, but the idea being - if the clock doesn't show a 7...you can't get up yet. So - off to CVS I just ran while Billy was getting him ready for bed. Bought a clock, covered the minutes w/index card, and wrote another 7 on that spot. We explained to him that this was the number 7 - that they matched, then pushed in other hours to show him they weren't matching, and not 7 anymore...2 7's means he can get up. He loves his clock, and was very excited that it got to stay in his room. So, prayers were said, and he was tucked in. We were just in our room, and could hear him chatting to himself; saying something that sounded like 7 - eventually he called Mom - when i popped in, he said "it says 7 mommy - i can get up?" - too smart this little bugger!!! We'll let you know how it works - have a feeling it'll take a few days - but hopefully we can get a bit more rest w/this plan!
